How to Style a Room Around a Piece of Artwork
Do you believe that you need to buy art to fill an already existing space? Sometimes that can work, but what happens when you fall in love with a piece of artwork?
If you’re lucky, the artwork will match the existing colors and styles of your home.
If it doesn’t, that’s ok. It can be an amazing experience to find a piece of artwork and then build a room around it.
Once you have the piece of art in your home, you can begin to look at the colors. Find a few that you would like to see more of around the room.
You can pull an accent color from the piece and look for pillows and throws to coordinate with the art.
Mood boards can help you see your vision laid out. Check out the one below that features the “Adventure Through Wildflowers” canvas.
I picked a neutral couch that matches the cream color in the painting and can be a lovely foundation for pretty pillows and blankets. The accent colors can be seen in the pillow, blanket, and lamp. Adding textures to the items in your space enhances the design too.
Finally, houseplants add life to a room. Whether it’s real or faux, a plant always makes a statement.
When you find a painting you love, it can be fun to style an entire room around it. Use the painting as your inspiration and then find furniture, accessories, and decor that complement and support the painting.
