Why Working in Layers With Acrylic Paint Can Improve Your Confidence
This is part 3 of a 4-part series where I take you through the many layers of a floral painting.
The painting journey is quite chaotic in an amazing way. You have ups and downs, you feel great about a painting one day and the next day you hate it. But, it’s so worth it!
Because this path is hard, it’s necessary to have tools to help you get past those low-confidence days.
One way I do this is by painting in layers with acrylic paint. When you know you can cover up anything you don’t like, you can make marks and paint with abandon.
As you continue to make marks on the page, your confidence grows!
In this week’s video, I’m adding layers of paint on top of the contour line drawing and the linework from the past two weeks.
This is the process I love at the moment, but I only discovered that after years of practice. Pull out your sketchbook and start creating today, that’s the only way to grow your art skills.
