Using Line To Add Depth and Interest to Your Floral Paintings

This is part 2 of a 4-part series where I take you through the many layers of a floral painting.

See part one - continuous line drawing

Last week I showed you how I create a continuous line sketch to start a painting.

Now it’s time to add linework with various mark making tools.

Linework is a fascinating way to add depth and interest to your artwork because the marks can peek through future layers.

Today, I’m showing you how I add a layer of mark making on top of the contour line sketch I created last week.

Join me as we add marks to last week’s sketch.

If you want to learn more about mark making, I have a new guide for beginner’s that’s available now! Click here to grab your copy!
